Then off to Rancho Bernardo Inn for our San Diego Style Wedding’s tablescape shoot.

We had several days of heated discussions before the MML design team agreed on a color scheme and theme for the shoot, and right in the nick of time I might add!

Victorian Plum Passion was born. Upon set up and during the shoot, many of the RBI guests walked by and complimented our beautiful tablescape. Special thank you’s go out to our team, Dawnielle of the Divine Event, Patty of Creative Touch Linens, Kim of Sweet Layers Cakes and Pastries, Mernie of Ink Loves Paper and Paris of the MML who had to race down to Sweet Layers, grab the favor cakes(which in all the excitement I forgot!) and make it to RBI with 1 minute till shoot time! Great job Miss Paris (Soon to be Mrs. Paris) Look at our beautiful set-up! A special thanks to One Look Back Photography for the Fab pic’s and taking the time to get the perfect “shot”, you guys rock!

We hosted a Passion Party by Dannielle on May 31st and we received quite an education I must say as we blush still! Fun Fun and if you have not attended one, you should. We never drank so much champagne and laughed so hard in all our lives. Our young attendee’s probably wondered why we did not know of all the different toys that were displayed! We felt very old that day.  Thank you Kim of Arbonne International and Ella of FD Atelier for taking time to come out and support a fellow vendor and me! Whoo thank goodness you guys were there!

Then, we lost our Paris to Idaho L on June 5th. She moved to try her hand at the country life with her fiancé Jon. We know she will be back, once a Cali girl, always a cali girl! We are waiting for you Paris!!! In the meantime we all wish you luck, success and happiness.

Newlywed Christina Joo reveled in telling guests that her bridal jewelry was rented.
 
Rent the hall, hire the limo and stump for a fistful of loaner tuxes to keep the groom’s party presentable – standard fixtures on a wedding checklist. These days, that’s not all: Savvy brides are looking to hire, rather than buy, the bulk of their big day. Welcome to the era of the Rental Wedding.

Newlywed Christina Joo, 31, from New York wanted "Platinum Wedding" jewerly.  With a husband in the finance industry, Joo decided it was both prudent and tasteful to tone down the cost of her wedding after the turmoil of late 2008. "We couldn’t skimp on food or alcohol – those things were important in terms of letting guests have a good experience. But one thing we decided was that I looked into different rental jewelry."

She found her dream earrings at www.adornbrides.com  with a one-week rental fee of just $100. Unlike subscription services like BagBorroworSteal.com and BorrowedBling.com, Adorn allowed Joo a no-commitment rental with insurance folded into the flat $100 fee. Like Wagner, Joo reveled in telling her guests that her bling had to be returned, Cinderella-style, after the party. "I was proud of the fact that I was able to rent these earrings – a lot of people asked me where I got them. And I said, ‘Yeah, I rented them.’ To be honest, I was really excited that I got such a good deal."

Joo’s smart-thinking is exactly why the business, co-founded by Laura Carrington, is thriving today. "Even if you have something to spend, you probably don’t want to spend it on a necklace that you’ll wear three times. These days, even wealthy people are not looking to make expenditures like that," she notes.

Carrington, the company’s chief stylist, was herself getting married when she spotted the potential in bridal rental jewelry. "We felt like no bride should have to wear fake jewelry on her wedding day – you’d never have fake flowers, for example," she says, noting that the stigma on renting gems has been expunged in recent years as the idea has boomed with celebrities. "At red-carpet events, all those stars are borrowing what they’re wearing." And there’s plenty of celeb-worth bling on the site, like a splashy yellow diamond necklace that retails for $73,500, as well as more modest but equally glamorous statement pieces like $2,000 drop earrings.

Ask.com’s wedding guru, Tatiana Byron Marx, agrees with Carrington’s reasoning that the rental wedding is a growing trend, as well as the importance of the cash-curbing credit crisis. Renting slipcovers or linens is easier and more convenient than purchasing them – you don’t have to worry about stains or store them." 

Whatever the economic and pragmatic considerations for the rise of the rental wedding, there’s also a romantic bonus, at least according to Christina Joo.
"You know how brides want to wear something old, new, borrowed and blue?" she confides. "Well, those earrings were my old and borrowed."

It took place in the Temecula Creek Inn’s Yula and Kiva Ballrooms. All of our vendors were showcased with their very unique displays and services.

We had a constant flow of Brides and Event Planners come throughout the day, and the TCI crew was off and running with site tours. We had the MML Bridal Party Lounge on the front patio courtesy of Loungefurniturerentals.com and owner David Wright, The Yula Ballroom was hosted by the MML design, photography, Event sound & lighting, food  (umm Chocolate Monkey, Polka dot Apron, Sweet Layers Cakes and Decadence samples) planners, invitations ,floral, linens and tablescapes, and so much more, tray passed appetizers courtesy of Chef Salvatore and the TCI food and beverage staff were flowing with a carving station at the TCI booth..Yummy Yummy sandwiches ( I did not taste any though)

In the Kiva Ballroom( my zen room) were all our Health and Wellness vendors, make up artists and our beautiful Dawnielle Moore of the Divine Event with her beautiful, funky, trendy florals & tabelscapes and Amal, our couture dress designer with her fabulous bridesmaid, mother of the bride and unbelievable Bridal gowns on parade during our Fashion show, hosted by Elite Music works, and emceed by our own Leah, Life of Party. Many thanks to the Mens Warehouse and it’s manager Bernie for the loan of the two tuxes our handsome escorts wore.

Many thanks to our models and escorts: Our own MML member Emily and her husband Alan, Jacquline and her brother Justin, our MML bride Lindzey and the fabulous Briten (who we feel is off to be the next SuperModel at the tender age of 17!) And Amal, what can we say, your designs are so beautiful and unique, what Bride would not not to wear one of your gowns? Custom fitted to your body and unique to you, so your BFF will never wear the same gown you did all for the same price as a cookie cutter gown off the rack! And ladies, she makes Temecula House Calls at the MML for custom fittings and measuring if you do not fancy a drive the Beverly Hills Salon (I am driving to the salon for sure).

So many brides and event planners told us it was one the best shows they had been to in a long time, small(not too small in two ballrooms) intimate and elegant. Such a great compliment for all of the MML vendor members.. Congratulations to all of you.

On March 8th, 2009 at Pelican Hill, an all inclusive upscale event took place which featured their beautiful oceanfront wedding venue and was hosted by the Festival of Brides. Maryann Bradley, owner and producer of the wonderful Festival of Brides, Bridal showcases has a motto: “Luxury, Quality, Integrity, Honesty, and Impeccable Service,” and for 19 years she has incorporated this motto into her upscale bridal events for the Los Angeles and Orange County areas and they are invitation only shows. The Marry Me Lounge was one of the invitee’s along with our Temecula neighbor’s, Ponte Winery, Deylete’s Catering ( The Castle) and Tasteful Cakes of Corona. We definitely had an Inland Empire presence that is for sure!
 
Pelican Hill had spectacular ballrooms, a Haute Couture Bridal Fashion Show by Erin Cole Bridal and a special guest appearance by renowned couture designer Rita Rivini. Live music provided by the Wayne Foster Orchestra and plenty of wonderful DJ’s. The food was indescribable! They passed out delectable hors d’oeuvres; including, chunky lamb chops, scrumptious shrimp skewers, Dungeness crab spoons with wine and champagne to wash it all down! Oh, I forgot the awesome tomato bisque.

 
Our booth was in the La Cappella Ballroom, snuggled between two picture windows that capture the drama of its setting so as to look onto the Pacific Ocean. We had Shawn Adams, the Creative Director with Ambiance Designs, design our space both, with the vision of the Marry Me Lounge and by his mission to bring attention, imagination and originality to each of his design concepts by focusing on individuality and interest to every detail. Allison with Temecula Creek Inn joined us at our booth to feature picturesque settings and ideal venues; such as, the Stone House, Creek side Guest House and Temet on the Greens, which can accommodate every aspect of the wedding experience for the destination bride.

 

Displayed on the Marry Me Lounge table, was a dessert bar by Decadence Fine Chocolates and The Polka Dot Apron.  Decadence Fine Chocolates had yummy Oreo dipped cookies and seasonal candy presented in large life size champagne and martini glasses (the new IN thing).  The Polka Dot Apron, a new vendor in our store, supplied their popular and all the rage dessert bars in lemon and chocolate caramel flavors (everyone LOVED them). Additionally, they exhibited their new Favor Cakes which are super cute and very clever.
 
We had a great turn out of brides who were very interested in what we are all about! We thank you all for your support and coming to our booth!
 
Do not forget to attend our 1st Annual Marry Me Lounge Bridal Open House, held at Temecula Creek Inn on March 14th, 2009 from 11am-4pm, with a fashion show from the fabulous Amal of Beverly Hills and special gift drawings!

In the dance area, the music was flowing courtesy of Gary from Elite Music Works, the beautiful event lighting courtesy of Jay from The DJAY Company.

The Wilson Creek Almond Champagne, Falkner’s Lucious Lips,  Leonesse’s Port and truffles, were flowing from the bar where Colt and Jess of The Crash Cart, were taking care of all our guests. We had a beautiful cheese and fruit plate from Shawna, Temecula Cheese Company and Dorothy from Fresh and Favorable Meals, and a decadent dessert plate from Leah and Delyte’s/The Castle.

Then a special guest arrived and played his guitar and sang songs we all knew! A special Thank You to Kenny Marquez! Our guests had a chance to take their pictures in our beautiful Black and White picture booth, supplied by Joe and Sassy Booths, THANK YOU, we all had fun in that booth!!!!

MAKE A WISH’s candy table started off slow but we managed to raise some $$$ to help our local MAKE A WISH children, YEAH!!!

We had a great evening with door prizes being raffled off and our Grand Prize, the Free Fantasy Wedding , with the location donated by The Embassy Suites and the rest by the MML Vendor Members, won by a military couple, Andrea and John, a USAF Military Police officer and a USMC Marine, who rushed home from the USMC birthday bash to take a picture and receive the many congratulations from all of the excited MML vendor members!

WHEW, what a night! We put on quite a show and if you missed it, you missed a wonderful evening, it was fun to see old friends in the industry, industry leaders and a great representation from all our local winery’s. Thank you to Loretta Faulkner, Nicole Blankenship, Lilia, Sue Lin and Karen to name a few of the winery representatives and the staff members of Pala and Pechanga Resorts,  the GM and staff from the beautiful Temecula Creek Inn, the event staff from the Embassy Suites , the CVB staff and so many more. Thank you all for coming out and supporting our beautiful MML showroom. I would love to name all the special guests but there are too many, so you all know who you are and we thank you for taking time from your busy schedule and coming out to cheer us on! Wow, what a great reception from the Temecula Community and beyond.. We are truly humbled! We logged 85 names in our guest book, passed out over 180 Bridal Information Paks, so we did really well for a small upscale show. We noticed the shows on site photographer/videographer spent most of his time in our area!
