Fall and Winter Update from the MML

December 3rd, 2009

Fall and Winter Update from the MML
Wow, how time flies when you are having fun! It has been almost 1 year and a half since we opened the MML and 1 year since our fabulous grand opening November 5th, 2008.

We have had an exciting year with our Glamorous pink and white tent display at Festival of the Brides, the bridal show, Wilson Creek in September, our Grand Opening in November, our March 14th MML vendor bridal show at the beautiful Temecula Creek Inn, our Bridezilla and Platinum Weddings segments airing in May and June. Our exciting San Diego Style Weddings tablescape shoot at elegant Rancho Bernardo Inn, and the many different vendor hosted events we had throughout the year. 2008/2009 was indeed wonderful for the MML, the MML vendor members, and their Brides… And with 2010 comes a big change for the MML…
We have moved up to the second floor of our current building to a smaller space. We will be devoting more time promoting our web advertising packages as well as our MML vendor displays. While we have reduced the Temecula MML space, this will enable us to open the much awaited Orange County Boutique (February is the target date) and then on to the Palm Desert showroom. We are currently closed and will reopen the new Temecula chic, elegant boutique December 4th, 2009. Since the MML is geared toward the destination bride, it seemed fitting that the MML have a presence in the areas the destination Brides are coming from… We are excited for the 2010 wedding season to begin.
With that said, here is the MML’s trend forecast for the 2010 season:

Landscape Centerpieces: Last year it was all about crystals and one color floral as well as multiple floral in different size vases. The 2010 trend? Landscape centerpieces. Dawnielle from the Divine Event, described the new trend as a dramatic towering landscape scene with a tall mini tree and flowers along the base or a working fountain with hundreds of tulips hanging. Elegant and green at the same time. Flower Loft International, agrees and said for a simpler look try potted herbs in beautiful containers as your centerpiece and they can double as a gift for your guests at each table.

Veils: Veils had fallen out favor last year when the two dress trend took effect, but are back in a big way for 2010. Elegant blushers on the crown of the head, an updated classic look, are all the rage, said Julia of Exquisite Wedding Gowns.  We stock a complete line of classic and Victorian veils and headpieces, as well as custom one of a kind jewelry Julia remarked, all at discounted prices.

Groom’s Cakes: A Southern tradition showcased in the movie Steel Magnolias, a themed groom’s cake is all the rage for 2010. Kim from Sweetlayers Cakes & Pastries said the cake should pick up on something personal about the groom like his favorite sport, activity, college logo or his nickname. Red velvet seems to be the cake of choice for most grooms.

Edible Favors:  Favors are a great way to thank your guests, so why not give them something they’ll enjoy? Gourmet chocolate favors are all the rage for 2010 said Nicole of Decadence Fine Chocolates. From beautiful white chocolate roses to decadent wine infused truffles, Decadence Fine Chocolates provides gourmet handmade chocolate favors. Packaged with elegant sheer ribbon, beautiful bags, custom imprinted boxes and ribbons; Decadence has a favor for everyone.

Dances That Say Wow: With all the popular TV dancing shows on the air and ballroom dancing in our living rooms every Monday night, it is only fitting that more couples are leading their reception off with a classic, choreographed dance. For 2010, it will be extremely popular for couples to take dance classes to prepare for this special first dance. Bella Ballroom in range County is one of the best dance studios to help couples learn an old classic, elegant dance to wow their family and guests. A few tips: start your dance lessons at least one month in advance and keep your routine to three minutes or less.

Photography for the extreme photojournalistic couple: The New Year is bringing new ideas to photography, stated Lilia of L Parker Photography. High fashion and realism all in one is creating a different feel with photos. Some photographers are extreme in their photojournalistic approach by saying no to any posed, planned photos. If it doesn’t happen throughout the day, it’s not recorded. So that means the traditional family portrait is obsolete.  High fashion style like the pages in a magazine is in high demand as well.  Refined looks make for great photo albums. Whatever style you choose, even if you choose a little bit of both will be a hit for 2010!
